Quality of the room overshadowed by a terrible game master

This room had the potential to be a lot of fun, but it’s very hard to appreciate its strengths when the game master experience was this poor.

Our GM was constantly talking to us and guiding us step by step through what to do next, basically from the very beginning. We finished the room with time to spare, so I really don’t understand why she felt the need to rush us throughout the game. On top of that, she was rude and obnoxious, and didn’t seem to be in character at all — which is especially disappointing in a room where immersion is such an important part of the experience.

But the worst part was that we unintentionally figured out how several of the puzzles work. spoiler Some puzzles have to be activated manually by the game master once the players solve something. You wanna know how I know this? Because at least three puzzles were activated JUST BEFORE we solved them. spoiler I don’t mind this kind of mechanism at all, but it requires a game master who is actually paying attention to the players and their progress, which this room was lacking.

Since this was a birthday outing, the experience was even more sad and disappointing. And honestly, I don’t think the blame lies solely with the GM — it’s also on "THE ROOM Berlin". When the price is this high, the service should be of a much higher standard.

Room is a collision of two worlds - the gloomy East and the vibrant West Berlin. A nice contrast to experience firsthand. The interiors may have not been the best we have ever seen but they fitted the theme of the room. We enjoyed the riddles, we had our hands full for the whole 60 minutes. There were some innovative solutions and some things we did not expect at all. Overall a very decent escape room - highly recommend!

It's hard for me to evaluate this as an escape room because it's more of an experience. If I consider it in those terms, I have to admit that it's a really well-executed room. However, from an escape room perspective, it lacks a bit in terms of puzzles. Nonetheless, it's worth visiting to form your own opinion.

Ten escape room to prawdziwa perełka dla fanów mrocznych, ale jednocześnie przygodowych klimatów. Od samego początku czuć świetnie wykreowaną atmosferę – dopracowana scenografia, nastrojowe oświetlenie i efekty dźwiękowe sprawiają, że można się poczuć jak prawdziwy łowca duchów.

Zagadki są różnorodne i dobrze wpisane w fabułę – wymagają logicznego myślenia, ale też interakcji z otoczeniem. Szczególnie podobały mi się mechanizmy, które dodają dynamiki rozgrywce i sprawiają, że całość nie opiera się tylko na klasycznych kłódkach.

Obsługa na najwyższym poziomie – profesjonalna, sympatyczna i dobrze budująca klimat przed wejściem do pokoju.
