The dynamic margin feature allows the standard hourly margin to be automatically reduced when staff are on-site due to an ongoing or recently completed game. This mechanism removes the default time lock, making additional slots available for last-minute reservations.

Configuration

To enable and configure this feature, go to the Room Settings page, open the “Booking settings” tab, and locate the “Dynamic margin” section.image

Available parameters

  • Enable dynamic margin – the main toggle that activates the feature for the configured room.
  • If previous booking ended at most [h] before slot – the maximum time that may have elapsed since the end of the previous game. The condition for shortening the margin is met if the new slot falls within the defined time window.
  • In one of those rooms – a list allowing you to select the rooms from which the system should retrieve data on completed bookings to verify the condition (useful when managing multiple rooms in a single location).
  • Then set calendar margin to [h] – the new margin value (expressed in hours) that will be applied to the given slot. Entering a fraction, e.g., 0.1, shortens the time required for a reservation to 6 minutes before the game starts.
  • Paid extras—allows you to specify which paid extras can be purchased at the last minute.

Use Case

Scenario: The venue does not have fixed opening hours and accepts groups only a few hours in advance so that the staff member has time to arrive on site. However, the owner wants to allow “last-minute” reservations (e.g., for spontaneous customers) for available slots if another game is currently taking place or has recently ended at the venue, which guarantees the physical presence of staff.
